Silvia

Silvia finished her Public Relations and Advertising degree seven months ago and decided to improve her English skills to apply for a Masters in Marketing and Events Management. After spending two months struggling with the cold weather in Brighton, UK, she decided to fly to Sydney to finish her English studies.

Apart from the sunny weather, Silvia really likes the fact that Sydney is a melting pot, so that she gets to know other cultures and learn how to interact with them.

Silvia picked SELC from other English schools in Bondi because she visited our Facebook community, where SELC students encouraged her to come and study at SELC. Silvia even met other students who were going to be in Sydney at the same time as her, so she felt really comfortable about coming to SELC.

One of the best things at SELC, Silvia says, is that if you want, you always have something to do, because Bert (Social Activities Coordinator) organises many social activities for the students, which are also joined by other teachers. Another highlight for Silvia has been the wonderful time she has had with her homestay family as her host mum is a great cook!

She will fly back to Italy in a couple of weeks and, apart from the English lessons, says Silvia, Sydney has taught her another lesson: to be a grown-up!
