Giulia

Giulia is 26 years old and has enrolled to study at SELC for 24 weeks. She said it was difficult for her to learn English in Italy, since the focus is on grammar only. Giulia felt that she really needed to improve her listening and speaking skills because she is a law student and wants to find a good job when she finishes her degree.

Giulia likes studying at Bondi Junction as she feels the City is a bit chaotic and too much like Rome. Giulia also loves Bondi because the beach is bigger and the sand is brighter than Manly. She is happy here because Bondi welcomes so many international students and she recommends that anyone who enjoys a good walk should take the one from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach. It is a great opportunity to take beautiful pictures of Sydney’s coast.

What Giulia likes most about SELC is her teachers. In particular Fiona and Graham are her favourites; Fiona because she explains everything really well and in detail and Graham because he keeps his students interested with his sense of humour.

Giulia has been having a great time at SELC. She really enjoyed the SELC welcome party and a Harbour cruise (she has already secured her ticket for the next one). As it is early summer, Giulia has watched a volleyball game at Tamarama Beach organised by Bert (our social coordinator) and even a horse race!!!
