SELC HomestayHomestay

SELC’s Homestay Program involves Australian families in the Eastern Suburbs. Families are chosen for their high-quality accommodation, friendliness, and interest in people from other cultures. There are 2 types of homestay:

HALF BOARD:

* Private home
* Breakfast and dinner provided each day

ROOM AND FACILITIES:

* Private home
* No meals provided
* Use of all facilities (you can cook in the family’s kitchen)

Homestay counselling is available and students are taught Australian customs and English expressions to help them settle into their homes. Homestay is a wonderful way to experience Australian life while studying English!

SinclairsStudent Lodge

Sinclairs has 2 student-only residences providing clean, budget accommodation located between SELC and Bondi Beach. There is a range of rooms, all with wireless internet, TV/DVD player and fridge. Light breakfast is included.

Bondi Beachouse is a conveniently located budget residence only 5 minutes’ walk from Bondi Beach. Features includes: internet cafe, BBQ courtyard, rooftop sun-deck with ocean views, excursions, daily activities, video nights and live entertainment.

Hotel

CHIFLEY POTTS POINT SYDNEY is conveniently located between the city and SELC.

Serviced Apartments

BONDI SERVICED APARTMENTS (serviced weekly) are located between Bondi Beach and SELC.

Cancellation Policy

Homestay
A student is required to give two weeks’ notice (in writing) to the family and to SELC or two weeks’ cancellation fee will apply.

Alternative Accommodation
* One week’s notice (in writing) is required for Bondi Beachouse or one week’s cancellation fee will apply.
* The initial 4-week booking is not refundable for Sinclairs and two weeks’ notice (in writing) is required after the initial 4-week booking or two weeks’ cancellation fee will apply.

Second Placement Fee

A second placement fee is required to be paid if a second homestay booking is requested. The fee is half of the original accommodation placement fee.

A second placement fee applies when:

* A student wants to extend their initial homestay booking and the same family is not available.
* A student chooses to leave their homestay family and needs SELC to find another family.
